AGM and Coaches Meeting -Tuesday 17th June

The Club Committee are now giving notice that our annual AGM meeting will take place this year on

Tuesday 17th June, starting at 7.30pm at the Michelin Club. All elligible Club members are entitled to

attend the Club AGM and vote on any new proposals, which must be forwarded to the Club Secretary

by Tuesday 10th June

This will be immediately preceeded by the monthly Coaches Meeting starting at 7.00pm.

Open Nights - 18th and 19th June

Northend United are already planning for next season and are holding open nights on Wednesday 18th June

and Thursday 19th June at Eaton Park from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

The Junior Open Night for 2003s to 2006s will be held on the Wednesday 18th June while the Senior Open Night

for the 1999’s to 2002s will be held on Thursday 19th June. All new players will be most welcome

Northend United Youth Awarded First Ever Irish FA's Club Mark Accreditation Posted 10/02/14

Northend United Youth FC had the pleasure this week of being the very first Club in Northern Ireland to being awarded accreditation under the new Irish Football Association's Club Excellence Mark scheme. The Irish FA launched its Football for All Club Excellence Mark in October and since then over 80 clubs registered their interest, with Northend United setting the standard for all the rest. Indeed such was the standard of Northend's submission, it is now being used as the benchmark for the other interested clubs. The award is a football specific accreditation scheme which clubs can embark on to try to improve the way they are run.

Northend United Youth FC is a local community oriented club that have demonstrated a commitment to best practice in the running of their football club. The Club mark scheme is a tool that can help clubs like Northend to develop and ensure their club is run in the right way. The focus is on club governance, duty of care, games & coaching development and community outreach and in achieving this level of Irish Football Association's Club Mark, Northend United Youth have shown a dedication to best practice in all of these areas.

The Irish Football Association's Club & Community Development Officer, Aongus O'Keeffe, said "This is a great achievement by the Ballymena based club and the hope is that all football clubs can aspire to Club Mark accreditation so that club football in Northern Ireland has a healthy and successful future".

Club chairman at Northend Utd Youth FC, Johnny Sayers, said: "We are delighted and proud to be the first club in Northern Ireland to achieve the IFA Club Mark. This is recognition of the great work of all volunteers at the club since it was set up over 10 years ago. We hope this award will spur us on to bigger and better things in the coming years".

Dunvale, Ballymena, commencing at 7.30pm.

Northend United Youth would appreciate as much support as possible from players, their families, friends,

Lloyds Bank Community Fund Winners 2013

Northend United Youth FC would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted for them in the

recent Lloyds Bank Community Awards. Our Club was placed first in their Category in Northern Ireland,

based on the number of votes we got. We will now receive a substantial donation from Lloyds Bank for

our Club funds.

1st International Honour for a Northend Player

Northend United Youth and Wakehurst Youth are extremely proud of their U17 player, Jonny Hanlon,

who was recently selected to play for the Northern Ireland LD U23 Squad, in their match against Wales

at Lisburn Distillery's ground on Sunday 17th November 2013. The Northern Ireland team was managed

by Mal Donaghy and Alan Crooks.

Jonny, a 5th year pupil and School Team captain at Ballee Community High School played a major role

helping his country chalk up an impressive 5-1 victory over their Welsh counterparts in the international

game played at New Grosvenor on Sunday.

The local Ballymena boy not only played 80 minutes in the game but he was also instrumental in setting

up the second goal for Northern Ireland.

Coerver Coaching Course

As part of their coaches Continued Professional Development, Northend United became the first

representative team in Ballymena to enrol the Coerver Coaching specialists in a partnership with

the Blues, aimed at enhancing the skills of all the Northend and Wakehurst coaching staff. Phase

one of the partnership occurred on Wednesday night (24th Oct) at the Clough MUGA when twenty Northend and

Wakehurst coaches observed a number of Coerver Coaching drills being performed on the Club's U15 team.

Youth Football Televised for Free

to access for free. Matches are televised on a Friday night and Saturday morning, with an Analysis Program

Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2013

Northend United Youth Club is through to a final four in our Northern Ireland region for the Lloyds Bank

Community Awards for 2013. Our project is based on our Friday night grassroots football coaching

project.

Our Club can earn a substantial fund for football equipment if we finish in the top two in our region.

To allow us to achieve this, we need as many votes cast as possible and we would encourage you to vote and get

as many of your family and friends to vote as possible for our project in the following two ways:

1) SMS Texting. This is charged at normal text costs with no premium attached (honestly!). Please text

taking part in the traditional Foyle Cup parade through the streets of the Walled City, beginning at 10.45am

on Tuesday morning, before playing their match against Everton FC feeder Club, Everton America, from

Northend U17s are now officially Wakehurst U17s and are looking forward to life in the U17s National

League which will this year be held under floodlights each Friday night.

1st home fixture is on Friday 30th August verses Foyle Harps, while the much awaited Derby match

against Ballymena United is on Friday 20th September
